What is SiNNERMAN Ensemble?
SiNNERMAN began as 10 actors that met at The School of Steppenwolf in 2005, and has since expanded into a company of 12 creative artists who share the same lofty ideals about what theatre should be.
What is SiNNERMAN about?
SiNNERMAN is about creating extraordinary, relevant theatre. We strive for the highest quality in every element of production. Every play staged is partnered with a local charity relating to the story we are telling. This partnership illuminates for our audience the immediate relevancy of our work.
Where does the name SiNNERMAN come from?
It’s a Nina Simone song that started our every day at The School at Steppenwolf. We’re quite fond of it. And there’s something about the idea of being a sinner that we all connect to. Sinners are unpredictable. They take risks. They make mistakes. They are fallible. These are the kind of people that make theatre worth watching.
