What is SiNNERMAN Ensemble?
SiNNERMAN is 10 extremely talented, creative minds that all met at The School of Steppenwolf in 2005. Every SiNNERMAN is an amazing artist alone, but realizes the immense power of ensemble. Through collective support, one has no limits.
What is SiNNERMAN about?
SiNNERMAN is about creating extraordinary, relevant theatre. Every play staged is partnered with a local charity relating to the story we are telling, providing audiences with immediate information about the issues and how to support the organization. Our goal is to strengthen the community in Chicago.
Where does the name SiNNERMAN come from?
It’s a Nina Simone song that started our every day at The School at Steppenwolf. We’re quite fond of it. And there’s something about the idea of being a sinner that we all connect to. Sinners are unpredictable. They take risks. They make mistakes. They are fallible. These are the kind of people that make theatre worth watching.
